Tacos El Pelon

Jose was born in the state of Michoacan, Mexico. 

When he was 8 years old, he moved to the state of DF, Mexico.

As a child, he developed the love and the art of food. He emigrated to the United States in 1979, shortly at the age of

18 years, he obtained his first job in the field, picking up grapes and strawberries.

After a few years, Jose started in the restaurant business. 

First as a waiter at Las Parrillas in Rohnert Park, and then as a chef at Que Pasa Gold in Petaluma.

In 1994, Jose and his brothers opened "Los Magos."

a Mexican restaurant in the heart of the district of Roseland in Santa Rosa.

For the next two decades, Jose and his family opened a number of restaurants.

And also, a number of taco trucks to serve the constant flow of Mexican immigrants in Santa Rosa.

Tacos El Pelon opened in 2005. 

The famous "Tacos de Cabeza" and "Tacos de Cochinita Pibil" have made Tacos El Pelon is one of the favorite taco trucks in the Rosaland District.

The recipe for Coochinita Pibil and the slogan "mangar de dioses placer de humanos" come from a town called Peto in Merida, Yucatan.

Now, Tacos El Pelon is known and considered one of the best tacos in Santa Rosa.
